What we’ve done: Over the past two weeks, we decided our team name (WavesFM), established roles, chose a project management software to use (Asana), set up our website, created a team contract and started doing a literature review.  Additionally, we had our first client meeting with the RootIO team, consisting of Chris Csiksgentmihalyi, Robby Muhumuza, and Jude Mukundane.  Our initial communication with the client consisted of understanding the scope of the project, what the current status is and starting to determine different potential directions for our project. Our dev lead spoke to Jude to gain a deeper understanding of the technical aspects and limitations of the microstations, and the whole team developed questions for Robby, RootIO’s community liaison, on social and political culture. Obstacle/s: An obstacle we are currently facing is trying to better understand what our project could be and how we fit in to the current Rootio structure, especially since they are in the middle of testing the concept in the field.  We hope that through our research, literature review and communication with the client this will become more defined. We also hope to find a role for us in the primary research. Next Steps: Our next steps are to conduct a literature review to uncover key findings, learn more about radio technology, create a team logo, create a schedule for the semester, write a hunt statement and read through the project documentation provided by RootIO.
